My Bio

Houston Native RichelleGemini is the ultimate entertainer. She has been stamped as a powerful poet, a dynamic rapper, sultry singer, talented song writer and an energetic host. With her start in the Poetry world first, she has won countless local and regional SLAM competitions, been featured at festivals, placed top 20 in the Nation at Nationals in 2010, and has been featured at colleges and shows all around the US. In 2011 she tried her hand in music while still maintaining an active poetry career. The transition was so natural she got picked up as an opener for two Hiphop tours. In the climb of her career, in 2012, two beautiful surprises popped into her life and Richelle became a mother and took a break from the industry, but vowed to return.
In 2016 she returned with the strategy to get her social media numbers up and began her freestyle frenzy. She started doing poems and rap freestyles in the car and has watched her following organically grow from hundreds to over 21,000 followers. By 2017 she had released a poetry project “Words From A Baby Mama”, a mixtape named “Motivated to Make A Mixtape” and an EP entitled “Survival Mode”. She has opened up for activist and well known artist David Banner, Dr. Umar Johnson, Tank, Tink, Eric Roberson, Tamar Davis and more. By the summer of 2017 she acquired a residency in Downtown Houston at The Isles, hosting an energetic open mic for local talent. In 2018 she went to a new level snagging a Residency as the Host at House of Blues in the Foundation Room in Houston Texas from January to April 2018 on Fridays. Other venues that she has featured and hosted at includes Warehouse Live, Revention Center, Satellite Bar, Rockefellers, Preston Theater, Ayva Center, Media Block, Café 4212 and is currently the resident host in the Houston Museum District at Le Chateau every Saturday night for a Burlesque variety show.
She is about to release her latest project, “Sweet Gemi Jones” inspired by her truths and bringing unity to the community, the name she chose pays homage to the rap legend, Pimp C. It is a compilation of soul singing, universal lyrics, and feel good music. The EP will be released in the first quarter of 2019 and will be available on all musical platforms. Stay connected with her on all Social Media (@RichelleGemini) she hopes that you get inspired to love, learn, and laugh.
